Henneman Capital vetted out this new high-tech medical company and has participated for over 12 years during its development and funds the company.

 

Dragonfly is a novel precision imaging platform based on ultrasound (acoustic tomography; or “ACT”) that improves surgical outcomes, avoids radiation, reduces physician workload, and reduces overall cost of care.

 

The technology has been developed over the past several years in partnership with strategic and clinical partners. Based on strategic dialogue over the past 6 months, Dragonfly has made several substantial improvements to its historical ACT 180 to produce the new ACT120 system

 

In creating the ACT 120, Dragonfly meaningfully improved form factor and workflow integration to deliver deep, high-resolution images.

 

— System can either be used on a standalone basis by attaching to the bedside, or can be fully integrated within surgical robotic systems

 

— Can both complement and help reduce need for radiation-based CT / MRI imaging

Regulatory status: 510(k) has been prepared, which is ready to be finalized following a

strategic transaction, depending on the particular platform with which the technology will be integrated.

The Company has a strong IP portfolio including 52 patents granted and 29 patents pending globally, including design, method and process patents.

In addition to improving patient outcomes and surgical workflow productivity, and Diagnostic Imaging, Dragonfly’s technology can both image tumors and help a doctor to remove tumors within the margins. It has been designed to seamlessly integrate with all the major Imaging systems: even improving existing off-the-shelf probes. DSMC’s technology has achieved highly positive, concrete technical and clinical proof-points to date.
